EnVision SA 2024 is Moving Along

Last night, the Steering Committee met to continue their work on strategic planning on behalf of the school.

Things are moving along swiftly, and the following has been accomplished so far:
  • 15 interviews have been conducted with key internal (members of our community) and external (friends of the Academy) thought leaders
  • Six forums have been held to gather the thoughts of Middle and Senior School Students, faculty and staff, parents, and alumni
  • The Steering Committee, working with the initial data generated by the interviews and forums with respect to the Academy’s strengths, opportunities, and areas for future focus, has developed four constituent surveys to supplement and validate our initial findings.
These surveys will provide every single Middle and Senior School student, faculty and staff member, parent, and alumnus/a an opportunity to contribute to our planning process. In fact, the success of our process will depend on how many members of our community choose to participate. Last evening, the Steering Committee meeting was a learning experience or case study in why it is so important to have a variety of diverse voices at the table. In the group developing the surveys for students, adults read a question one way, but the students read it differently. This led to some judicious editing to ensure that it would be clear what, exactly, we are asking students. I hope that this small but significant example of the power of diversity at work will inspire everyone to put in their “two cents!”

Surveys will be distributed electronically on November 26 and will remain open until December 12. Our team of consultants at Concentrics will complete an analysis of the data collected and present findings to the Steering Committee, which will meet again on January 23.

Things are beginning to pick up speed, and it is exciting to see some common themes beginning to emerge. Stay tuned for further updates, and please be sure to join in by responding to the survey!
