Dear Prospective Families,

When engaging in the school search, we understand that cost is a significant factor, but the priority should be, whether it is the “right fit” for the student.  What we know for sure is students thrive at institutions that meet their academic, social, and emotional needs, while fostering supportive expansion of their lived experiences.

Over the years, Sewickley Academy has created an inclusive community, reflective of the backgrounds and lived experiences of all students and families, making sure that cost is not a barrier to access.  For the year 2021-2022, the school awarded $2.8 million in financial aid to 27% of our families.  To assist with determining an approximate amount of financial aid, please check out our financial aid calculator at the bottom of this page.

We realize that discussions about personal finances can be complicated and stressful.  As you engage in the admissions process and have questions, please feel free to reach out with your questions.  All of our conversations and your personal information will be kept confidential.  This means a minimal number of administrators at the school are aware of which students are using financial aid to attend. Teachers, advisors, and coaches are not privy to this information, ensuring respect for and privacy of all students.

If you have any questions about the process or any extenuating financial circumstances, please contact Emily Roth, Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, at eroth@sewickley.org or 412.741.2235 ext. 3.

Fast Financial Aid Application

  • FAST Financial Aid Application Process

In order for us to allocate our resources wisely and fairly, we have enlisted the help of the Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) program by Independent School Management (ISM). ISM's FAST does not decide whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give. Rather, FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service. FAST provides the school with a report, which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information from FAST is kept confidential.

Please note that Sewickley Academy is not able to meet the full amount of the recommended contribution for every family. FAST assumes each member school will recalculate aid awards based on the school's particular aid policies, and such re-calculation is a routine part of the financial aid process. Applications are reviewed by the Academy's Financial Aid Committee which makes determinations on the level of aid a family qualifies for. The Office of Admissions then notifies families of the Academy's financial aid offer.

In addition to completing the FAST application, families are required to submit copies of their 2020 Federal and State Tax Returns, all schedules, and W-2's directly to ISM at the address listed below.

Families can access the FAST application starting October 1, 2021.

Steps to Complete Financial Aid Application
    1. Visit the FAST website. The application process is self-guided. You may navigate in and out of the program which allows you to partially complete an application and go back to it at another time. A helpline is available 24 hours a day by calling 1-877-326-FAST. If you do have questions, please call the FAST hotline, as Sewickley Academy will not be able to answer questions regarding the FAST application.
    2. After completing the online application, you are required to upload a copy of your 2020 Federal and State Tax Returns, all schedules, and W-2's.
Please note that all financial aid requests, including financial information and award amounts, are kept completely confidential. Families are expected to keep the amount of their award confidential.
  • Deadline

To be included in the initial round of financial aid processing, the deadline for submitting the FAST application and mailing your tax information to FAST is:

    Current Families: December 1, 2021
Applicants to PK and K: January 7, 2022
    Applicants to Grades 1-11: February 4, 2022

After those dates, financial aid will be awarded on a rolling basis. As always, our financial aid budget is fixed, so the sooner you apply, the better.
