Mission Statement
The mission of the Alumni Council is to support Sewickley Academy’s Mission and Core Values by cultivating a mutually beneficial relationship between the school and the alumni community. The Council’s purpose is to cultivate and strengthen the connection between alumni and Sewickley Academy; foster alumni engagement and giving; act as a channel of communication between alumni and the school; provide opportunities for alumni to participate actively in the life of the school; connect with current students to enrich their Sewickley Academy experience.

  • Participate in evening Council meetings 4-5 times per year either in person or via Zoom
  • Serve as officers and on committees including: Outreach, Events, Communication, and Volunteers
  •  Work with the SA Alumni office to help coordinate and plan for class milestone reunions and other Reunion Weekend events
  • Help with the formation of affinity groups
  •  Support SA’s Annual Fund – no matter how large or small a gift – and help educate your classmates about the importance of philanthropy at Sewickley Academy
  •  Assist the Advancement Office with class solicitations
  • Commit to a 3-year term on the Council; 2- year term for Officers (Chair, Co-Chair)
  • Work with 2 members of the current Senior class and 1 member of the current Junior class as co-council members

Additionally, the person selected as Chair will update the alumni community on the Saturday of Alumni Weekend. All local council members will be expected to attend essential alumni events, such as Alumni Weekend and the Alumni Holiday Party.
