Congratulations to the varsity girls lacrosse team for defeating Mt. Lebanon 15 - 14 Monday night in the WPIAL Semifinals. In an amazing game of fast break lacrosse and many outstanding performances by players from both teams, the Panthers were able to take a 15 - 13 lead on freshman Madison Recker's goal late in the game. After a Mt. Lebanon goal, junior Sydney Larson stole the ball and the Panthers were able to maintain possession the final minute of the game. Key defensive stops through out the game by sophomore goalie Jill Pollon and seniors Antoinette Heil, Lydia Elste Lou Gillespie and Claire Meakem were critical to the success of the Panthers. Beautiful and timely passing by the Panthers was evident throughout the game resulting in three goals by freshman Ellie Hughes, four goals by freshman Elsa Gordon and six goals by junior Sydney Larson.
