Coach's Comments
When a team trails 7 - 0 early in a playoff softball game, the odds of coming back to win the game are not good. What was remarkable was the way our team pulled together and encouraged each other despite the dismal feeling. We scored two runs to make it 7 - 2 but Mapletown scored two more to make it 9 - 2. That did not dent our enthusiasm as in the bottom of the fifth we scored 2 runs to make it 10 - 6 as Theresa and Olivia continued their multiple hit game. In the sixth, they did not score any runs. In the bottom of the sixth we continued our strong hitting and tied the game at 10 - 10. In the top of the seventh, Mapletown showed their heart by scoring two runs. With one out we started our rally with an infield single by Mishon. Maggie followed with a base hit. Kamryn smacked a ball to the outfield for a double scoring Mishon. Alyssa drove in the tying run with a sacrifice putting Kamryn on third base with 2 outs. They intentionally walked Alexis who was hitting the ball well. This brought up Kaylee who was 3 for 4 on the day with three rbi's. Shd drove a line drive between the shortstop and third baseman to score the walk off run!
