Middle School Student Wins First Place in Pennsylvania at the National History Day Competition
Grade 8 student Roshni Thakkar won first place in the Junior Individual Website Category of the National History Day (NHD) Competition for Pennsylvania. Her project was called “Nelson Mandela: A Conflicting Journey to Justice.”
Grade 8 students have been engaging their hearts, minds, and hands in the service of a greater good during their year-long humanities work. On Monday, May 21, they presented their culminating capstone project – The Museum of Citizen Action – to the entire Sewickley Academy community.
SA Inducts Twelve New Members into the Cum Laude Society
On May 21, 2018, Sewickley Academy’s Senior School gathered in Rea Auditorium to honor the academic, athletic, and artistic achievements of students during the annual Awards Ceremony which included an induction presentation for the newest members of the Cum Laude Society.
On Shenango's Senior Night, they played very well, leading 40 - 39 at halftime. Our guys did a good job of staying focused as we played a sharp second half. Isiah and Jett led us in scoring with 26 and 25 points respectively. Isiah had 10 rebounds, Will had 7 rebounds and Dave and Jared each had 6 rebounds. We shot 49% from the field and 75% from the foul line.
