Coach's Comments
Playing in front of an incredible SA crowd, our players defeated a talented and tough Bishop Canevin team 50 - 48 to advance to Hershey! First, our congratulations to the Canevin team and fans for an excellent year. We played each other four times this year, and it was some of the cleanest, hard fought games. Their crowd is always boisterous but somehow fun to play against. The same for the Canevin team and coaches. It is a pleasure to compete against a group of players, coaches and fans who do it the right way!
Once again we shared the ball as eight players scored. Chris Groetsch led us in scoring with 15 points including the critical two free throws with the game tied. Then he stole the ball to end the game! Justin Pryor had another double digit rebounding game to go with his 8 points. Dave Groetsch scored 11 points. Declan Hickton had 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
It is so difficult to advance to Hershey in the sport of basketball. Our congratulations to all of our players for their many contributions to make it happen and to continue enjoying this special season!
