Coach's Comments
In front of a most supportive group of students, parents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the community, we rallied from a 2 point halftime deficit to outscore Canevin 20 - 8 in the third quarter on the strength of an 11 - 0 run to begin the half en route to the semifinal victory!
Sophomore Nate Ridgeway led us in scoring with 23 points on just 12 shots from the field. Senior Chris Groetsch had 11 points & 4 rebounds, senior Justin Pryor had a double double with 10 points & 10 rebounds, freshman Isaiah Smith had 10 points & 4 rebounds, and senior Declan Hickton had 9 points and 3 steals. In addition, freshman Isiah Warfield continued his strong defensive play with 2 steals and 4 rebounds and junior Dave Groetsch had 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
It was a true team victory as once again excellent work by our second team in practice prepared us to play against an outstanding Canevin team. We will return to the Pete Friday afternoon at 5:00 to take on another section opponent, OLSH.
