Sewickley Academy Junior wins Congressional Art Award
Junior Priya Melonio received an award from the Congressional Art Competition for her oil-painting “Kindred.” The winning piece will be displayed in Congressmen Mike Kelly’s personal office in Washington, D.C. for the next year.
On May 15, 2017, Sewickley Academy’s Senior School gathered in Rea Auditorium to honor the academic, athletic, and artistic achievements of students during the annual Awards Ceremony which included an induction presentation for the newest members of the Cum Laude Society.
After a series of different iterations of the Academy, Sewickley education is handed over to two educators, Miss Munson and Miss Dickinson. Miss Munson's school primarily served male students while Miss Dickinson's classes were all female. There was a potent rivalry between these two institutions.
