Senior School students compete in the regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Competition

Three Senior School students compete in the regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Competition on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Two students, Alex Wang and Swetha Menon, won first-place awards for their projects titled: Predicting Polymer Thin Film Properties via Machine Learning and Optimizing Truss Design for Maximum Load Bearing Capacity, respectively. Alex won a $100 cash Director's Award for his category with a perfect score from the judges.  Swetha won a $100 cash award from the Society of Women Engineers. Avni Kathju won a second-place award for her project titled: Probiotic Suppression of Pathogenic Bacterial Growth. We are exceptionally proud of these students for their independent research.  Alex and Swetha now advance to the state championship at Penn State University in May.
