Sewickley Academy Junior Published in The Apprentice Writer
Junior Erin Mahoney’s photograph, Hangin' On, will be published in the 2019 issue of the The Apprentice Writer this August.
Erin, who became interested in photography because of her father, an avid photo taker, was chosen as one of about 75 high school contributors for this year’s issue. This is the second time one of Erin’s photos has been published in The Apprentice Writer.
The Apprentice Writer, published annually by the Susquehanna University Writers Institute, features the best writing and images from nearly 4,000 submissions by secondary school students. Students can submit writing in poetry, fiction, memoir and personal essay, as well as photography.
Copies are printed by The Patriot News in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and distributed to nearly 3,000 schools in August and September. Erin and her sponsor, Senior School English teacher, Mr. Larry Connolly, will receive a copy of the publication.
