The Board of Trustees Approves New Strategic Plan
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Sewickley Academy’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved EnVision SA 2024, the school’s new strategic plan.
The outcome of a yearlong effort included input from over 600 community members, EnVision SA 2024 will chart a course for the school in the next five years in a number of key goal areas:
Educational and Programmatic Distinctiveness
Educator Excellence
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Space and Place
Financial Vitality
As part of our data-gathering process, we surveyed parents, students, faculty and staff, and alumni. In addition, we conducted fourteen interviews with educational thought leaders, alumni and parents of alumni, community partners, and university administrators. Subsequently, we held seven community forums for parents, students, faculty and staff, and alumni, as well as four focus groups that provided individuals an opportunity to comment on the survey data in the following areas of concentration:
Centers for Excellence: developing signature programs and finding, investing in, and capitalizing on the differentiating aspects of SA
Connected Campus: advancing partnerships for learning beyond the campus bubble
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: shaping, communicating, and living a commitment to diversity
Community Outreach: cultivating community engagement and strengthening community outreach
Our next steps include the development of an implementation plan with specific tactics to fulfill our goals and strategies, supported by cost estimates and metrics. A time-line for implementation will also be developed. In September, we will share more detailed plans with you in a mailing.
