Coach's Comments

Sewickley Academy secured a Section Championship with a win over Eden Christian on Monday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, Sewickley opened the second half with a bang scoring two goals in the first ten minutes. The first was a beautiful headed finish from Lekha Amin off an Olivia Ryder corner kick. Ryder then added one of her own with a well struck shot from the left side of field. Defender Kamryn Lightcap assisted Ryder’s goal with a quick clear that bypassed the midfield. Goalkeeper Theresa Wilson also came up big with an important shutout for the team. Celebrations of the Section Championship will turn to renewed focus as Sewickley begins preparing for WPIAL playoffs.
