Coach's Comments
Individual Championships are always a combination of highs and lows, particulary this year as we managed to qualify all six of our golfers. Three of our guys, Landen, Matthew and Tim did not have "it" today but they continued to battle and play hard all day. Two of our guys played very well in their first championship event with Austin shooting 78 and Navin 76 to qualify for the state individual semifinals. Another one of our guys, JF, was tied for the lead on the 15th tee at even par. From there he saw a fellow competitor make 2 birdies in a row to finish at 2 under par. JF went for broke on 17 because he knew he needed a birdie and ended up with a double bogey. As always when you are in that position, we are always proud of our guys when they compete to win, and JF continued in that long list of our guys who have competed so well in WPIAL and PIAA Individual Championships. He, too, advanced to the state westerns with a 73.
