Summer Assignments: Grade 6 & 7

Welcome, rising Grade 6 & Grade 7 students!

English 6 & 7

In Grades 6 and 7, we want you to read what is right for YOU! Summer is a great time to explore your interests and think about yourself as a reader. This summer, we hope you will read as much as you can—every day! We designed the categories below to inspire you to think about different kinds of reading. 
Your Task:  Read at least four books from a different category below.



For help finding the right books, check out our website for strategies and title suggestions. You may find that a book doesn’t hold your attention like you thought it would. If that happens, it’s okay to pick something new! 
There is no written assignment over the summer, but you will discuss and compose assessed writing upon your return in the fall. This will help us get to know each other as readers!
