Coach's Comments
In a dramatic game matching two of the top teams in our classification, the back and forth game produced many lead changes. Senior Olivia Ryder who led us with 19 points, drove the lane for the winning score in the final 30 seconds to put us up one. Junior Sam Smith, 11 points, knocked a free throw with 7 seconds left to push the margin to two and tough defense led by junior Myra Samuels prevented St. Joe's from scoring at the buzzer. Junior Theresa Wilson scored 7 of her 9 points in the first quarter and junior Alyssa Winters grabbed some big rebounds in the second half. The depth of the bench was the ultimate factor as we were able to wear down St. Joe's who do not possess the same type of depth.
