Boys Basketball Defeats Jeannette WPIAL Quarterfinals
Congratulations to the varsity boys basketball team for defeating Jeannette 80 - 51 Friday in the WPIAL Quarterfinals to advance to meet Bishop Canevin Tuesday at North Hills at 8:00 in the semifinals. The Panthers raced to a 26 - 11 first quarter lead and never looked back as Senior Declan Hickton knocked down 2 early 3 pointers and junior Nate Ridgeway scored 6 early points as well. Freshman Isaiah Smith scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half and senior Chris Groetsch registered 15 of his game high 21 points in a 28 point third quarter to put the game away.
