Six Students Named Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Program

Six students from Sewickley Academy have been named finalists in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP).

On Monday, February 6, 2017, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 15,000 finalists who are being considered for close to 7,500 Merit Scholarships in the 62nd annual program. The Academy’s finalists are Priya Rajawat, Tessa Juliano, Neil Rana, Ain Shajihan, Natalie Wei, and Jacob Winningham.

Each of these academically talented high school seniors received a Certificate of Merit. In March, the NMSP will begin mailing scholarship offers to the winners’ homes.

Approximately 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2017 NMSP by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as the initial screening of the program entrants.

Congratulations!
