Spotlight: Meet Colton, a spirited Lower School student with a deep-rooted connection to Alaska's wilderness and beauty. Ever since he was a toddler, Colton has been embarking on annual summer trips to Alaska to visit family. Amidst the breathtaking landscapes, Colton finds comfort and adventure in fishing expeditions, particularly enjoying the thrill of reeling in Alaskan salmon at the fishing lodge with his family. En route to the fishing lodge, Colton marvels at the sight of volcanoes and snow-capped mountains from the airplane. This is one of his favorite sights each year.

Encounters with Alaska's wildlife add an extra layer of excitement to Colton’s adventures, from a close encounter with a friendly black bear at a young age to spotting majestic moose, soaring eagles, and a myriad of fish and birds along the way.

Back home in Pennsylvania, Colton channels creativity in the kitchen. He enjoys cooking and creating recipes. Cooking for his grandparents during their visits, Colton specializes in crafting comfort food like pasta with seasoned tomatoes, meats, spinach, and cheese, aspiring to master the art of homemade pasta noodles someday.
Beyond the kitchen and outdoors, Colton’s interests span from sports, with baseball and admiration for favorite player Andrew McCutchen, to the virtual realms of video games like Roblox and Offroad Outlaws. Amidst the hustle of his busy life, Colton cherishes quality time with friends and family, finding joy in art, staying active, and the simple pleasures of recess each day at Sewickley Academy.

With an appetite for adventure and creativity, Colton’s journey through Alaska's wilderness and kitchen alike is a testament to curiosity and the joy of exploration.
