Hockey Finishes Season in Playoffs

The varsity ice hockey team's season ended Monday night in the PIHL playoffs with a 7 - 3 loss to South Park. Sophomore goaltender Thomas Sykes had another very solid outing in net for the Panthers stopping 45 of 52 shots that he faced on the night. Senior center Matthew Hajdukiewicz led the team in scoring on the night, registering two even strength goals and an assist. Senior winger Jack Duggan tied the game in the 1st Period with the first Panther goal of the night and provided the lone assist on the Panther's third goal. Senior winger Logan Fullerton gave a commendable effort as evidenced by his responsible play in the Panther D zone, his timely play making, and his work on the penalty kill. Senior Tommy Gordon put in a worthy performance; his passing acumen, sound positional play, and lone assist on the Panther's second goal were all noteworthy contributions. Senior center Andrew Beck contributed effectively using his speed, physicality, and determination to make a difference on the forecheck, backcheck, and penalty kill. Senior defensemen Henry Meakem and Jackson Paul were under pressure much of the evening from the high flying South Park team, and their efforts helped lead our defense all evening.

Go Panthers!
