Kate (Poppenberg ‘82) Pigman's Letter to The SA Community

A letter from Kate to the Sewickley Academy Community.
Dear Sewickley Academy Community,

My journey with Sewickley Academy began as a student and alumna then as a parent and a member of the Board of Trustees. I had the distinct honor of serving as its Chair since 2017; I am filled with tremendous gratitude and pride for being associated with an institution that has a rich history of traditions, values, and aspirations. The Academy has been an integral part of my life, and leaving my role as Chair is bittersweet.

I have been privileged to be a part of many committees at the Academy over the years, including the Annual Fund Parent Chair to the Committee on Trustees to the Executive Committee. My work with the dedicated and talented individuals on each committee is a testament to the spirit of collaboration and the shared vision we all have for Sewickley Academy's future. I genuinely treasure every challenge we overcame together and each milestone we celebrated.

I leave my role as Chair with the utmost confidence that the Academy is being led by new and talented visionaries, and I know that its mission will continue to thrive under such capable stewardship.

As I step down as Chair, please know that Sewickley Academy will remain an important part of my life. I cherish the memories, the accomplishments, and the shared dreams that the Sewickley Academy community holds. Thank you for the incredible journey, the unwavering support, and the opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact on an institution that has made such a powerful impression on my life.

With warmest regards,
Kate (Poppenberg ‘82) Pigman
