Spotlight: At five years and weighing in just under 50 pounds, Crosby joined Burrell Youth Wrestling (BYW) this year. The organization includes 92 children ages 5 - 12, and Crosby is one of only four girls participating. She enjoys the encouragement of her mom (Olivia Saperstein in the Middle School), little brother Chet, and her dad and Papa who happen to be coaches. During the season, she practiced twice weekly for two hours per day. BYW is part of the Keystone Wrestling League (KWL) which includes 43 programs and hosts an annual Tournament of Champions. Crosby competed in five KWL tournaments this season in order to qualify for the Tournament of Champions on February 12 in which she earned a bronze medal in her division. When asked what she likes about wrestling, Crosby explained, “You get to meet friends. You have to be strong and tough. And when I get bigger, I can help the little kids. I want to do it until I’m 12.”
