Future plans: “My dream is to go to Penn State to play lacrosse.”
Role model: “I don’t really have one. Not even a professional athlete.”
Favorite thing about SA: “It gives me a platform to play sports. The public schools in my area don’t have lacrosse so it’s nice to have the opportunity to play here.”
Spotlight: Campbell has been playing lacrosse for roughly half of his lifetime. He joined the SA team in Grade 7 which was actually a disappointing year with no games due to the pandemic. His start in the sport came with the Sewickley Valley Lacrosse organization, and he now plays for the Pittsburgh team of True Lacrosse,a premier youth training program in our area. Campbell appreciates the level of competition within his 2026 (grad year) age group of True Lacrosse. “With them, you really have to elevate the level you’re playing at. Playing against other really talented players makes you keep your head in the game and focus on not making any errors.” He particularly enjoyed a tournament this past fall during which the only group his team lost to was ranked in the top 30 in the nation. Campbell was drawn to lacrosse because, “It’s a very physical sport, all about teamwork. You need strong connections with your team in order to win….It’s always really great to win, but you also learn from your losses. I try really hard not to repeat mistakes that I make whether in practice or in games. I sincerely try to do everything my coaches tell me.” This mature and coachable attitude and outlook epitomizes the spirit of an SA Panther.
