The boys track and field team will be continuing a successful season this Wednesday at the WPIAL Track and Field Championships hosted by Slippery Rock University. Senior Kevin Savage individually qualified in the triple jump with the 14th best jump of the season (39’4”) and the 400-meter dash with the 11th best time of 53.31 seconds. Kevin also led the 4x400-meter relay team to qualifying at the last meet of the season. The team includes senior Mikai Thomas, junior Lincoln Riddle, and freshmen Josh Okorafor and is seeded tied for 15th place.
The girls track and field team will be continuing a successful season on Wednesday with a number of qualifiers as the 4x800-meter team made it to the WPIAL Championships. Juniors Olivia Park and Maddie Wren, sophomore Jayne Miner, and freshmen Selena Xiao qualified with a 11:22 min time for 14th place. Olivia also qualified individually in the 800-meter run with a 2:33 min time for 13th place.
