Thanks to the generous support of the Home and School Association, Sewickley Academy teachers will now be able to apply for funding to help support projects or teaching strategies that go beyond the original conceptual framework of their courses. Grants for Innovative Frameworks in Teaching (G.I.F.T.) is a new initiative developed collaboratively with the Home and School Association and SA teachers and administrators to provide teachers with a mechanism that will allow them to capture unexpected opportunities for innovative, interdisciplinary projects, especially where collaboration and experiential learning are the focus and student learning goes above and beyond daily classroom practice and experience.
Teachers may apply for G.I.F.T. funding online using the G.I.F.T. Form.(The form is also accessible via the Faculty Portal under Documents and Forms.)
Applications are assessed according to levels of innovation, collaboration, interdisciplinary approach, impact on students, and experiential student engagement.
