  • Carla Bianco’s Voice Studio

Carla Bianco, who starred on Broadway in the musical Rent, will offer voice and acting camps for students interested in theater, songwriting and performing. Students will enjoy a firsthand account of a life in the professional theater and develop skills that will make them better actors and singers.

Carla has worked extensively as an actor, singer, songwriter, instructor and director in New York, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh for the past 25 years. She has secured numerous recording and composition deals and has appeared on West Coast, Broadway and off Broadway stages, all of which have won her chart placements, recognitions, and awards. She is most known for her starring role in the Broadway show RENT and for composing the #1 Billboard song, “The Lover That You Are,” which won her an ASCAP award. After signing a distribution deal with Sony/RED, Carla released two albums as a recording artist which have earned her respect in the indie music scene.

Devoted to giving back to the community where her own dreams were born, Carla returned to her hometown of Pittsburgh to help found the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center and Charter School. She currently teaches private voice at Point Park University and runs the Carla Bianco Voice Studio which is proud to partner with Sewickley Academy, where she will teach a variety of programs: Contemporary Voice Camp (Grades 7-12), Songwriting and Performance Camp (Grades 3-6), Film/TV Acting Camp (Grades 3-6 and 7-12 as two separate sessions).
