Tuition Calculator

Sewickley Academy's Tuition Calculator is intended to help families better understand what their tuition responsibility might be for the 2019-2020 school year.  The calculator will generate a range of what to expect for your family contribution.
The tuition calculator is not an official award and only serves to provide an estimate of tuition for families who wish to pursue enrollment at Sewickley Academy. Please understand that the estimate you receive is not a promise of financial aid or an offer of admission to the school.

To receive an award, a student must first be admitted to Sewickley Academy and then apply to the Financial Aid program. Due to financial constraints, the school is not able to guarantee that every applicant for financial aid will receive an award.

The Financial Aid Application asks for much more detailed information that just income to provide a full picture of a family's specific financial situation. Sewickley Academy takes into account assets and additional pertinent financial information when reviewing the application, which can cause this estimate to be different from the actual award received.

If you have any questions about the value of a Sewickley Academy education, the admission process, financial aid, or this tuition estimate, please contact Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Andrew McMillen at or 412-741-2235.

Value of a Sewickley Academy Education

Sewickley Academy is proud to be one of the top independent schools in the Pittsburgh area because we welcome students for who they are and guide them as they develop into who they will become. Our Mission and Core Values serve as a strong compass, guiding us in delivering excellence in education for our students and their families. We prepare students for their future academic and life pursuits by challenging them to be critical thinkers who engage in discussion, rigorous study, and examination of the world around them. At Sewickley Academy, it’s the norm to be smart and funny, athletic and creative, kind and confident, and everything in between.

Research and surveys from the Higher Education Research Institute, the Council for American Private Education, and the National Association of Independent schools shows that students who graduate from independent schools, specifically, feel they are better able to adjust to, and excel in, the academic and social challenges they face in college in comparison to their public school counterparts. Additionally, independent school students are also more likely to achieve post-collegiate employment and gain admittance into post-graduate programs, which makes a Sewickley Academy education invaluable.

As a premier educational institution, it is our obligation to provide opportunities for students and families across the entire socio-economic spectrum to attend Sewickley Academy. In this pursuit, we are thrilled to provide a need-based financial aid program that provides assistance to approximately one in four Academy students.
