1865: Third Sewickley Academy Opens

Recognizing the need for a new academy, members of the Presbyterian Church permitted the “Old Brick Church” to be used to reopen a school. S.G. Norcross became the principal and led the school, which became co-educational when the Edgeworth Female Seminary closed. It remained open through 1875, when the school again closed.
