1843: Second Sewickley Academy Opens

The Rev. Joseph Travelli, a teacher by nature and training, was persuaded to become the headmaster and reopen the defunct school in the fall of 1843. Rev. Travelli rented the Fife House with 25 acres of land on the east side of the present Grove Street to become the school.
