1951–81: Clifford Nichols’ Three Decades of Service

The long-time headmaster, Clifford Nichols, Jr., served Sewickley Academy for thirty years, overseeing many transformations, including the construction and opening of a Senior School that expanded enrollment to include students in grades 10 through 12. Nichols’s trademark was his personal custom of standing at the entrance of the school every morning to shake the hands of every student as they arrived.
