There are two types of transportation to and from Sewickley Academy. Transportation is provided by your school district if you live within 10 miles of campus. Private transportation is available to Sewickley Academy families who do not live within 10 miles of campus. Transportation by School District
You are eligible to receive free busing from your home school district if it provides transportation to its students (PA State Law). The following districts are within 10 miles of Sewickley Academy and provide students with busing:
Aliquippa Ambridge Avonworth Central Valley Cornell Freedom Hopewell Montour Moon North Allegheny North Hills Pittsburgh Public Quaker Valley Sto Rox West Allegheny
There are no activity buses in the evening.
The law applies to students in grades K-12 only. No Pre-K students will be transported.
All routes, pick-up, and drop-off locations, and schedules are made by individual school districts. The duration of the bus trip is determined solely by the school districts.
Private Transportation
There are four private school transportation buses that service the following areas for an additional fee.
North Hills Area (1 Route) – Cranberry Township, Treesdale, Gibsonia, Bradford Woods, Franklin Park, Wexford, Mars
South Hills Area (2 Routes) – Nevillewood (Presto), Mt. Lebanon, Upper St. Clair, South Fayette, Peters Township, Canonsburg, Southpointe
Beaver Area (1 Route) – Beaver Falls, New Brighton, Rochester
There is a yearly fee to ride these buses.
Private buses transport students in grades Pre-K-12.
There are activity buses for the North Hills and South Hills routes that leave school at 6:10 pm.
"We have three children in three different grades. Prior to coming to the Academy, this meant running to different schools each morning and afternoon, all with different start and dismissal times. At SA, our morning drop-off at 8 am is the same for all three of our kids and could not be easier."
