Coach's Comments
Shenango has played us tought at their court the last two years. We fell behind 15 - 10 at the end of the first quarter, and with a 5 point surge at the end of the half that included a brilliant play from Isiah to Donald at the buzzer we tied the game at 25 at half. In the second half we made a few adjustments that the players executed brilliantly, and a 21 - 10 third quarter put the game in our favor.
It was a good evening to overcome adversity as for the second straight game Rees went down early in the first quarter with an injury. Despite missing the rest of that quarter, he came back to play and played beautifully, going 3 - 3 from the field with 2 steals and 4 rebounds. Max had a stellar night with 5 steals, going 4 for 5 from the field for 9 points. John, getting his first start, played great defense with 8 rebounds and 6 points. Cole came off the bench to play very good defense with 2 rebouncs and 4 deflections.
Donald had another striking night with 17 points on 5 for 9 shooting and 4 of 5 from the foul line. With Nate out due to illness, Isiah took over the game with a double double with 23 points and a season high 13 rebounds to go with 7 assists.
