Coach's Comments
In the opener we faced a North Catholic team that was excited to play a different style of basketball under a new head coach. Our inexperience at a number of positions showed early, giving North Catholic at 12 point halftime lead as we only scored 21 first half points. After trailing by 18 late in the third quarter, the nerves disappeared and we played Sewickley basketball from that point on. We shot 28 of 33 from the free throw line, should have shot 50 plus free throws. Nate led us in rebounds with 13, Isiah had 8 and Rees had 7. Isiah led us in assists with 5 and steals with 7. Nate led us in scoring with 33 points, Isiah had 14, Rees had 10 and Max had 8 points.
In our opener against a quality team, we went from a team very uncertain about ourselves to a team that scored 28 points in the fourth quarter and nearly pulled off an incredible comeback.
