By: Quinn Theobald, Communications & Media Intern
Sewickley Academy won its second consecutive state doubles title in tennis on May 27, 2018, at Hershey Racquet Club
The doubles team of Will Nocito and Dylan Parda, this year’s WPIAL Class 2A Champions, claimed the PIAA Class 2A title by defeating Will Schreck and James Pottieger of Wyomissing in the state finals 6-3, 6-4. The two are only the second doubles team from the WPIAL to win a Class 2A title.
Sophomore WPIAL Champion singles player Arjan Bedi made his way through the PIAA 2A singles bracket, losing to Westmont Hilltop senior Adam Kush in the semifinals. He finished the tournament in fourth place overall.
Earlier this season, the team won the WPIAL Class 2A title for the fifteenth straight year.
