Coach's Comments
The Panthers were back at it in Clairton to face their section opponent. Sewickley Academy started the 1st off with a run from Bordeau after he led the game off with a single. The Panthers then got another run in the 2nd when Cooper White leadoff with a double and scored. Clairton though fought back and scored 3 runs in the 3rd after 2 men were walked and 1 hit by a pitch by pitcher Cooper White.
The bats then came alive and the Panthers were patients at the plate. S.A. scored 3 in the 4th, 3 in the 6th and then 10 in the 7th. In that stretch of 4 innings, the Panthers had 8 hits, 6 walks and 4 HBP. Nick Wilson closed the game with 3 strong innings in his pitching debut. Cooper White got the win with 4 innings pitched, 5 strikeouts and allowed 2 hits while giving up 3 runs. The Panthers had 14 hits in all and got their first win of the season!
