Boys Basketball WPIAL Champions
Congratulations to the varsity boys basketball team, 21 - 4, for defeating OLSH, 22 - 3, 63 - 59 to capture the WPIAL Championship at the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers were led by the Tribune Review player of the game junior Nate Ridgeway who had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Isiah Warfield had 16 points to go with his 10 rebounds along with taking 4 charges. Sophomore Isaiah Smith scored 14 points and had 4 steals. Sophomore Jett Roesing hit a big three pointer in the fourth quarter, and senior Dave Groetsch had 11 points to go with his 5 rebounds and 0 turnovers. In the last minute of play the Panthers made 7 straight free throws as Isiah, Isaiah and Dave were clutch from the line.
