Coach's Comments

On the girls' side of things we obviously fell a lot of places in the rankings this year. That was to be expected, with 3 of our top athletes from last season graduated and/or moving on from quaker valley I knew this season would be a rebuilding year for our girls and I think we have a bright future ahead. Our only two individual point scorers at this meet were both underclassmen, Sophie and Halle and they will continue to see success in the water. Sophie dropped .5 seconds from her best time in the 100 back placing her in 9th and also gaining herself a new school record, she also placed 9th in the 50 free and dropped a 1/2 second here, she obviously played a major role in our relays as well. Halle dropped 3 tenths in her 50 free moving her up to 15th place and dropped over two seconds in her 100 gaining herself the 15th place here as well. With the help of Martha and Allison (both going something like a 26.8 ** the board had a bit of a fluke **) they managed to pull off a 7th place in the 200 free relay. In our 200 MR we had a few last minute changes and Erin, Lydia and Emiliana rose to the occasion. Our 400 FR moved up to 10th place in the standings dropping 12 seconds from our entry time. Antoinette and Allison both managed to go under 1:00 for the first time(!!!) Elena dropped a second from her best time and Halle hit a 56 for the second time in the day!
