Senior School Whoa!Bots Make an Epic Run for Gold!

By: Ben Spicer, Senior School Science and Mathematics Teacher

The Whoa!Bots returned to the podium in Baltimore, Maryland, on February 17, 2018.

With the spirit of Olympians, the Senior School Robotics team earned medals for their excellence after a long training season. The Whoa!Bots now advance to the First Tech Challenge East Super-Regional Championship in Scranton, Pennsylvania, held next month where 72 teams from Maine through West Virginia will compete for an opportunity to go for the gold in the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship in Detroit, Michigan, in April. The team racked up “big wins” all day eventually becoming captain of the finalist alliance in the playoff rounds.

Currently, they have the third highest score in the world – 618 points – for this competition season topping their previous record of 578. This is truly an amazing accomplishment for a team that has worked so hard over the past few years.

Congratulations to the Whoa!Bots!
