Four SA Students Win FIRST Robotics Ohio State Championship
Four Sewickley Academy students competed in the FIRST Tech Challenge Ohio State Championship on February 17 and 18, 2018.
Senior James Walton, juniors Aydin Turkay and Jayvir Monga, and freshman Christina Walton competed as part of Team #8393 the Giant Diencephalic BrainSTEM robotics team.
The team won first place overall at the tournament and is now the Ohio State Champion. In addition to wining first place overall, BrainSTEM was also recognized as an award finalist in robot design, process and documentation, connecting with their community and motivating others to get involved in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
BrainSTEM will now advance to the North Super Regional tournament in Cedar Rapids Iowa where 72 teams will be vying for the opportunity to advance to the World Championship in April.
Congratulations, James, Aydin, Jayvir, and Christina!
