Coach's Comments

In front of a home crowd with good support from students, faculty, staff and administration, parents, alumni and their parents and the SA community, our guys came ready to play jumping out to a 60 - 14 halftime lead that featured unselfish play with so many extra passes that led to easy baskets and open shots. Everyone is contributing on defense, although we need to get better on taking charges. Jared Washington came off the bench to register 7 points on 2 - 2 from the field, 3 - 3 from the foul line and numerous rebounds and good passes. Isiah Warfield was second in rebounds with 7 defensive rebounds and led us in assists with 6 and had a number of plays that would have been an assist in the sport of hockey. Isaiah Smith led us in scoring with 25 points on a most efficient 9 for 10 from the field and 5 for 5 from the foul line. Nate Ridgeway had 20 points and a season high of 5 assists. Dave Groetsch led in rebounds with a season high of 10 to go with 17 points. Jett Roessing began the unselfish play as several times in the first quarter he passed up good scoring opportunities to lead to great scoring opportunities as he scored 13 points.
