  • Senior Alina Mattson Reflects on her Second Trip to Haiti

Coach's Comments

Sewickley Academy defeated Serra Catholic on Monday 4-1 on a rainy, windy night in Mt. Lebanon. A scoreless first half was filled with good chances for both teams. Early in the second half Olivia Ryder broke the game wide open with two quick breakaway goals. Ryder also finished a shot on goal taken by Marynell Dethero. Dethero then added a goal of her own to bring Sewickley to a four goal lead. Serra Catholic finished a goal late in the second half, but the game was clearly in Sewickley’s control. With the win, Sewickley moves to the second round of WPIAL playoffs to take on Shady Side Academy on Thursday.
