Coach's Comments
It took Sewickley Academy 87 minutes to defeat Eden Christian 2-1 on Monday. Marynell Dethero scored an unassisted goal off a corner kick in the 8th minute of the game, giving Sewickley an early lead. Despite dominating much of the second half, regulation ended with a 1-1 tie on the scoreboard. In the first overtime period, Dethero scored the winning goal, this time off an excellent through ball from Lekha Amin. Theresa Wilson registered 8 saves. With the win, Sewickley finishes the first half of the season 6-1-2 and looks forward to an even more commanding second half.
