Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a joyous time to remember those who have passed away. In Mexico, ancient Aztec traditions were combined with Christianity during the Spanish conquest. As a result, each year families construct colorful altars or ofrendas in their homes that essentially welcome the spirit of their loved ones on November 1st and 2nd.
On a beautiful day at the par 72 Blackhawk golf course five of our guys qualified for the WPIAL Individual Championships, and a sixth player missed by one stroke, shooting an 80. The target score was 79 as 5 SA and 2 QV players qualified from the section. It was a meaningful experience for all six of our players as it an unusual setting to have to worry about a target score.
