Senior School History Teacher Travels to South Korea for Professional Development
This past July, I traveled to South Korea with a group of American educators with the generous support of the Korean War Legacy Foundation and Sewickley Academy. This professional development connected me to my curriculum and past enrichment, which continually puts me in the learning seat, prepares me to contextualize historical events for students, and sets me up to share global perspectives.
Sewickley Academy advanced to 3-0 with a convincing victory over North Catholic on Friday. Theresa Wilson registered her first shutout of the season in goal with nine saves. In the first half, Olivia Ryder scored off an assist from Kendall Lightcap and Marynell Dethero scored off an assist from Elsa Gordon. In the second half Lightcap connected with Ryder again for the final goal. With a dominant presence, Sewickley was able to rotate players into new and different positions and all 22 dressed players got in the game. Way to show up ready to compete in the first home game of the season, Sewickley!
