In the 2017 season opener, Sewickley Girls’ Soccer defeated Vincentian Academy 5-1. It took Sewickley a little time to get into a rhythm, but once they did, the goals started flowing. Olivia Ryder had a hat trick with Sarina Sandhu and Elsa Gordon each adding one goal. Lekha Amin assisted each of the last four goals. The defense held strong with impressive freshman debuts from Cameron Lightcap and Emily Szabo to support veteran defenders Lu Gillespie and Catherine Cable and goalkeeper Theresa Wilson. After a long pre-season and a lot of hard work, Sewickley is off to an excellent start. We look forward to our upcoming section games with optimism and excitement.
