Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a joyous time to remember those who have passed away. In Mexico, ancient Aztec traditions were combined with Christianity during the Spanish conquest. As a result, each year families construct colorful altars or ofrendas in their homes that essentially welcome the spirit of their loved ones on November 1st and 2nd.
We have been invited to play in this tournament for the second time. It is the East vs the West (Pa) where we combine teams with another school in our area. The format is similar to the Ryder Cup; the first 6 holes are better ball, match play; the second 6 holes are pure alternate shot, match play; the last 6 hole are play your own ball, combined score, match play. We played with Peters Twp. again and prevailed again. The girls had a solid showing, contributing to the overall huge win. It was a fun day for everyone!
