Grades 4 and 5 Battle with Books
Sarah Wilson, Marion Hutchins Librarian
On April 3, five teams of Sewickley Academy Grade 4 students “battled” with nearly 75 participants from several schools in the area in the 2017 Battle of the Books.
For the competition, students were asked to read a total of 10 books, divided between their team members, and answer a variety of trivia questions during four rounds of battle. SA’s Reading Exterminators won first place after earning the most points, and two of our students from The Book Thieves won second place.
Two teams of Grade 5 students participated in the battle on April 5 and the Book Worms team placed first.
We are so proud of all of our students who participated. Cheers to each and every one of you for remaining committed to reading widely for pleasure and working together with your teammates.
Congratulations to all of our Lower School students who participated in Battle of the Books this year!
