Track & Field Establishes New School Records
On Thursday, May 16, seniors Nella Tsudis & Alex Gordon competed in the Track & Field WPIAL Championships held at Slippery Rock University, and we have two new school record holders! Competing in both the 200 & 400-meter dash, Nella & Alex ran season-best times. Nella set a new school record in the 200 m with a 26.60 second time for 7th place, replacing Notre Dame recruit Summer Thorpe. She also came 9th in the 400 m with 62.15 second time.
Alex, competing in his first season of track & field, was able to place 4th in the 400 m dash with a personal-best 51.60 second time. For the third year in a row, the SA 400-meter dash record was broken by Alex, replacing University of Chicago recruit Sam Casale's previous record. Alex also had a personal-best 200-meter time of 23.53 seconds for 13th place.
