Middle School Students Compete in Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books, which took place on Tuesday, February 19, and Wednesday, February 20, at Quaker Valley Middle School, was a success for Sewickley Academy’s Middle School teams. Grade 6 had three teams participate, and Grade 7 had two teams enter the contest.
After a high-stakes tie-breaker round for Grade 6, the Reading Exterminators placed first and the Beaver Bandits placed third out of nearly 25 teams. The Grade 7 teams also participated in a tie-breaker round, one that exhausted all prepared questions from the judges. The Pageturners took second place out of about 20 teams.
We are so proud of all of our participants who took the time to read a wide variety of texts, build friendships, and have fun with reading!
