Girls Basketball Battles West Greene
Friday night in a packed gym at Canon Mac the SA varsity girls basketball team battled the #1 seed West Greene all evening before falling 56 - 46. Sophomore Bree Werner led the Panthers with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Despite trailing by double digits in the second half, SA cut the margin to 4 in the fourth quarter. Sophomore JJ Jardini came off the bench to spark the Panthers. Seniors Kendall Lightcap, Myra Samuel and Theresa Wilson demonstrated great leadership throughout the game.
If West Greene is able to defeat Vincentian Tuesday night in the WPIAL Semifinals, the Panthers will advance to the state playoffs for the third straight year.
